Rental Requirements
When picking up your rental vehicle from Ring Road Rentals, there are some rental requirements every renter must meet. Below is a brief checklist of pre-requisites you must have before arriving.
Renting a commercial vehicle
Drivers Licence
The driver(s) must hold a full Drivers Licence. The nominated driver(s) must have held their drivers full licence for at least 12 months. If the expiration date falls within the nominated rental period, valid documentation from your relevant Road Traffic Authority needs to be sighted and photocopied during the Rental Agreement process.
Over 25 Years of Age
- We only accept drivers 25 years of age and above.
Security Deposit or Bond
A Security Deposit; also know as a Bond is a monetary amount which must be held by Ring Road Rentals during the entire rental process. The Security Deposit is refunded once the vehicle and rental meets all terms and conditions upon return. The Security Deposit is $200.00 with a credit card only. Debit Visa or Debit Mastercard is not accepted. No vehicle will be released without the Security Deposit being paid in full.
The full Security Deposit will be refunded only when the terms below are met; including our full Terms and Conditions:
-
The Vehicle is returned on time (according to your Rental Return Date and Time). Please view our Late Rental Return Fees below.
-
The Vehicle is returned without additional damages other than noted on the rental commencement.
-
The fuel is at the same level as at rental commencement.
-
The noted Maximum Kilometres per day has not been exceeded during the rental period. Please view our Additional Kilometre Fees below.
-
The Vehicle is not excessively dirty. A detailing fee applies.
-
The Vehicle is not smoked in by any occupants during the rental period. A higher the standard detail fee will apply.
-
The renter has clearly stipulated he or she is not aware to have travelled on toll roads during the rental period. Please view Administration Fees below.
Payment of the Rental Daily Rate
The agreed Rental Daily Rate must be paid in full before our vehicle is released during a rental period. The Security Bond and the Rental Charge are not to be combined to a discounted amount. These amounts serve different purposes and must be separated during the booking and rental process.
Know Your Damage Liability in the Event of an Unforeseen Accident
If one of our Vehicles is involved in an Accident, the renter is responsible for paying a Damage Liability. Whether you are involved in a Single Car Accident or a Multi-Vehicle Accident, your Damage Liability must be payable to Ring Road Rentals immediately.
-
$2500.00 is our Standard Accident Excess Liability amount.
-
$500.00 is our Accident Excess Reduction (AER) Liability amount. You are given the choice during the rental sign up to accept AER for an additional $20.00 per day (capped at ten days).
If you are involved in an accident, our fleet are covered with full Comprehensive Insurance. You must notify Ring Road Rentals immediately. We ask you pass our contact details to any other parties involved. If you are unsure about fault or cause of any such accident, we ask you avoid admitting fault.
A thorough investigation needs to take place to assess the damages and pursue any other third parties or witnesses who may have been involved.
Your Accident Excess Damage Liability must be paid as soon as practicable. Your Security Deposit will be used as part of the Liability amount owing. Administration fees may apply if you have amounts outstanding - see below.
